About Buffalo Homes

Buffalo Homes was founded in 2015 by Matthew Digati

Real Estate and Architectural Photographer, Matthew Digati, created the Buffalo Homes Instagram account with the hope of highlighting beautiful homes and neighborhoods in Buffalo, NY.

What started as bringing a camera on walks around his West Side neighborhood has since turned into a full exploration of every neighborhood in the City.

Since then, @BuffaloHomes has grown to over 28k followers and inspired a full photoblog style website to dive deeper into Buffalo’s architectural treasures.

“Originally I was doing this for me. I had been walking the same streets and seeing the same homes my whole life and I just had to photograph them. I think it all came from me wanting to make Buffalo look beautiful.

Even if nobody followed the IG account, it would still be proof that Buffalo homes are some of the most impressive in the country. I absolutely did not expect it to take off so quickly or for so many other people to be interested.

Once I realized how much Buffalo pride my account was creating and how much people enjoyed it, I knew I was on to something big. I wanted to photograph every neighborhood.

Seeing comments from people that moved away saying things like “this makes me miss Buffalo so much”, or when a family reaches out to thank me for photographing their longtime family home because it has been the topic of conversation in their family for the whole day… that is exactly what I want to continue doing.

Bringing Buffalo closer together while inspiring pride in our neighborhoods and architecture.”
