Fall in New York State is an incredible time and it’s no exception in the City of Buffalo. Anyone looking for fall colors need only visit a major City park, take a stroll through Forest Lawn, or walk any of our beautiful parkways. We’re so fortunate as a City to have these picturesque parkways designed by possibly the greatest landscape architect to ever live, Frederick Law Olmsted.
He was the man that designed New York City’s Central Park, the Biltmore Estate, Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, and Buffalo’s entire Olmsted Park System. It’s very likely that if you grew up in Buffalo, you at least know his name. Visit any of his parks during fall in the Northeast and you’ll witness gorgeous autumn colors all around you. Chapin Parkway runs from Soldiers Circle to Gates Circle and is the widest of the 3 featured Parkways in this post.
Lincoln Parkway meets the other 2 Parkways at Soldiers Circle and ends at Delaware Park’s Hoyt Lake. This street is home to many of Buffalo’s most expensive homes.
